Artist Statement
Hello!I am a contemporary hyperrealism artist living and working on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. Originally from Adelaide, I moved to the EP for my next life chapter. My practice is centred around creating heirloom quality pieces that transform special moments in time into timeless artworks.
Working in finite detail allows me to intimately connect with clients and the memories that are evoked by their special objects. This connection is then represented in a considered, intentional and deliberate way through line, shape, form and texture.
After a career as an educator and fulltime single parent, art has always been my passion, and now in this third life iteration, I have decided that this is now my future.
Above all my work is driven by the need to document fleeting memories and significant objects, in a way that is contemporary and engaging to the viewer. Hyperrealism gives me the platform to introduce the viewer to how the artist sees the world. By focusing on the smallest details, the viewer can then see the world from a different perspective and appreciate it even more.
I hope my art resonates with you, and that we have the opportunity to work together to capture an emotion or turn a memory of a time now gone, into a beautiful timeless heirloom that can be passed down the generations.
Due to the nature of my process, I have a limited number of commission spaces available each year. Please register your email (here) or reach out to me via Instagram @artworkbykylie.
Thank you for being here and taking an interest in my work.
