This piece was commissioned by Shane for his wife’s 50th birthday. We had a 5-10 minute chat where I asked him some questions about his wife including, their family , connections with friends and favourite things they did together.
From this chat we made connections between her friends (helping her learn to crochet), her favourite AFL team (Adelaide Crows) and a personal insight into their relationship (peg).
This conversation gave me an insight into how much Shane’s wife meant to him, and this allowed me to create a one-of-a-kind artwork, symbolising not only their love for each other, but also their life together.
“Thank you Kylie, it was exactly what I needed for my wife’s birthday. The added Crows signatures from her favourite Crows players finished it off beautifully.”
